Encaustic Paintings

Encaustic Art has been around since ancient Greek civilization.

Encaustic means "burn into" It refers to the process of heating pigment (I use oil pastels, oil paint sticks and alcohol inks)

with many layers of bees wax and tree sap called damar resin onto round wood panels.

My paintbrush is a torch where I melt in the pigments with the wax. These abstract little worlds of gardens,

forests, and flower fields are a way of losing yourself in remembering, dreaming or just being.
